"Since the late 1990’s, my work has involved the creation of figurative works and landscapes in water-media, pastel, oil and acrylic. I strive to capture the being of the person I am painting, and my landscapes also suggest a figurative style. While there are no people in those paintings, the viewer can sense their presence. I want to evoke the emotion one feels from a particular place."

"My aim is to create work that points to our profound connection to the natural world and to other people . . . the wonder and awe that is present in our daily lives, if we simply notice it."
